TOWN OF GEEVESTON
By His Excellency SIR GEORGE CUMINE STRAHAN, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Colony of Tasmania and its Dependencies.
A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is expedient, in pursuance of the provisions of "The Police Act, 1865" to constitute and appoint a certain portion of land in the Parishes of Honeywood and Price, and County of Kent, in Tasmania, as and to be a TOWN, to be called "Geeveston". Now therefore I, SIR GEORGE CUMINE STRAHAN, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief as aforesaid, by and with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the provisions of the said Act, do, by this my Proclamation, constitute and appoint the land hereinafter described as and to be a Town, to be called "Geeveston," and do define and proclaim the extent, limits, and boundaries of the same as follows:

Commencing at a north angle of Lot 6362 purchased by William Cane on the Kermandie River, and bounded by the north-east and south-east boundaries of that lot and by a south-westerly line to the south-east boundary of Lot 3070 purchased by Henry Sharpe, by that boundary and by a south-westerly line to the south-east angle of Lot 7980 purchased by Osborne Geeves, by the south-east boundary of that lot, by part of the north-east and by part of the south-west boundary of Lot 6227 purchased by D Nickles, and by the south-east and south-west boundaries of Lot 2488 purchased by Abraham Carter to the Kermandie River aforesaid, thence by that river to the south-west angle of Lot 3178 purchased by Osborne Geeves, by the west and by part of the north boundary of that lot and by the west boundaries of Lots 315 and 314 purchased by John Geeves and Henry Gregory respectively, and by a continued northerly line through Lot 4977 purchased by Richard Hill to Scott's River, thence by that river to the Kermandie River aforesaid, and by that river to the point of commencement.
Given under my hand at Hobart, in Tasmania aforesaid, this twenty-sixth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.
