Constitution
Background.
An opportunity to refresh the GPA constitution came about when we changed our name from Geeveston Community Development Association (GCDA) to the Geeveston Progress Association in July 2018.
Charlie Rich and Marlowe Aster collaborated to compare and contrast the constitutions from similar organisations around Australia to select elements that seemed most appropriate to our community and our activities, and to use the least ambiguous wording we could manage.
Drafts were periodically presented to members for feedback.
Prior to this revision, the GCDA had adopted the standard model rules as their constitution.

Changes to the Constitution can only be made at our Annual General Meeting or at a Special General Meeting. See item 6.1 Changes to the Constitution.
